So happy you are joining us on our adventure to renovate and restore a 1913 bungalow near the Haynie’s corner area of Evansville.
Let’s start with introductions – I’m Christine, the matriarch of the Barnhart – Reed clan. I’m an engineer by education and a professional in the realm of supply chain for a major software company. I’m every architect, engineer and general contractor’s worst nightmare. I know enough to be dangerous and am a professional project manager. So, I’m not an expert, but I can dabble, and I am 100% a task master – just ask the family.
My hubby, Ty, represents the other side of our little blended family. He’s a union business agent, lacrosse coach and all-around great guy. Fortunately, he is pretty laid back, so we work well as a team, i.e. I bark a lot, he pretends to bark back, but ultimately goes along unless it is something he is super passionate about. We love to give each other a hard time but all in good fun — most of the time!
Together, we have three children from previous relationships. Kendall is our oldest at twenty-two. His passion? Gaming! He hung up his lacrosse cleats 18 mo. ago and now devotes all his energy to gaming – please don’t ask me too many questions here – I’m a generation removed but try to be supportive. Next, we have Carson at twenty. During the pandemic, he threw himself into working full time, coaching soccer with his former travel club, and taking a hard look at were he wants to go with his life — still a work in progress. Raegan is Carson’s significant other and does her best to keep him on the straight and narrow. Last, but certainly not least, is Andrew. He’s a freshman in college, focusing on zoology and his love of nature. The older two are living with us and seem excited to help us on our adventure – and young enough to provide some decent sweat equity. Whoop! Whoop!
