We are super close to closing on the house – yeah!  It can’t get here soon enough.  I’m ready to turn over my ideas and designs to the professionals, so they can craft a masterpiece.  Latest designs call for the creation of an “entrance” space as you come through the front door, complete with a large closet (desperately needed in the house), small bookcase and a nook for a desk.  Also, note, that we are committed to keeping chimney but likely capping at the roof. While it is decoratively appealing it is not energy efficient and would take considerable time and cost to correct.

Another key item that we would like in the entry is wainscoting – another feature often found in Craftsman bungalows.  Creating a defined entry gives us a great location to add this feature across the more formal part of the house, including the dining room. I think it will tie in nicely to the existing transom in the dining room and our transom replica between the entry and the kitchen – also bring in some additional light! #Winning   Things are coming together — unless the architect finds issue or has ideas for a better utilization of space.  Fingers crossed that we kick things off soon……
