You may have noticed that we haven’t posted in over two(2) weeks. Well, to be honest, we just didn’t have much to say. We were caught in what felt like an endless loop of vague financial institution checks/balances with little insight to what was happening and when we would be able to close on the new house. Seriously? I get a real-time tracker when I order a $25 pizza, but I can’t see where I am in the approval process for borrowing thousands of dollars. I see an opportunity for someone to innovate here!
Thankfully, our waiting is now over. We are over the moon excited to be closing this afternoon. Whoop! Whoop! Let the games begin…. with “Demo Day” on Saturday starting at 11 AM EST. Want to beat on an old kitchen cabinet? Bring down some plaster? Maybe, rip out some carpet? I can help you — stop by the Parrett Street bungalow and I will hook you up with safety glasses, a mask and either a hammer or a crowbar! LOL Or, you can just stop by to say hello and check the old gal out before full scale demolition begins. I’ll have a cooler handy incase you work up a thirst. 😉
Since we have had several weeks to mull things over, we have decided to move forward with getting the current house in Newburgh ready to list after the first of the year. It likely means moving to an apartment for 9 to 12 months until the new house is finished but with interest rates so low it just makes sense to get it on the market. So, now we are tackling a punch list for the Newburgh house while creating the project plan and schedule for the Parrett street bungalow. Yes, yes, we are gluttons for punishment. Glad that I am mean with a spreadsheet!
It will be super easy to find the Barnhart’s and Reed’s over the next several weeks or months — we’ll either be cleaning, packing or painting at the old house or we’ll be cleaning, tearing stuff out or renovating at the new house. Sigh — is it possible to be tired before you have even started? I’m sure it will be an exciting few months. If you know anyone looking for a large home in Newburgh (Castle Elem, Castle North Junior High and Castle High school), they can reach out to our awesome realtor, Ann Walker and she will hook them up with the details.
Until later this week — wish us luck folks – we are going to need it!
